Adina Talve-Goodman
Adina Talve-Goodman (1986–2018) was an American writer and editor who focused primarily on creative nonfiction. Raised in St. Louis, Missouri, she attended Washington University in St. Louis, where she studied performance studies alongside women, gender, and sexuality studies. After undergoing a heart transplant at the age of nineteen due to a congenital condition, she relocated to Brooklyn in 2010 and served for six years as the managing editor of the literary magazine One Story. She won the Bellevue Literary Review's Nonfiction Prize in 2015 and matriculated into the Iowa Nonfiction Writing Program (MFA) in 2016. Talve-Goodman passed away from lymphoma in January 2018 before completing her degree, and her essay collection, Your Hearts, Your Scars, was published posthumously.
