Johns Hopkins University
Baltimore, MD
http://writingseminars.jhu.edu/
We are a very small program. And very selective. (This year, we admitted 4 fiction students out of an applicant pool of 275, and 4 poets out of an applicant pool of 120.). Students are guaranteed a great deal of personal attention, and work closely with an adviser. We do not ask our students to teach in the first semester of their first year; instead, we offer a pedagogy course to prepare them for guiding a classroom.
